our history

The purpose of the Citizens Police Academy Alumni of North Texas (CPAANT) is to enhance the relationship between the citizen police academy alumni association and their respective police departments.  CPAANT is comprised of volunteers who are dedicated to community involvement and helping to make their city and the North Texas region a better, safer place to live.

In September 1995, representatives from 15 CPAAA organizations met at the Dallas Police Academy.  The meeting was hosted by the Dallas CPAAA and the Duncanville CPAAAA.  The purpose was to form a North Texas regional CPAAA group.  At the second meeting, hosted by the Arlington CPAAAA, the Citizen Police Academy Alumni of North Texas was formed including an executive board, directors and bylaws.

our mission

It is the mission of the Citizen Police Academy Alumni of North Texas (CPAANT) to assist and support the Police Departments of all member and potential member cities, in developing and maintaining a positive relationship between the Police and their Communities.

We as members of CPAANT will:

  • Continue to educate ourselves concerning crime and its prevention.

  • Share this education with the broader community.

  • Meet regularly on the first or second Saturday of every month.

  • Gather information from Member Communities concerning their Police Agencies, especially:

    • Information concerning Community policing projects and priorities.

  • Form special committees to better allow CPAANT Members to focus their Individual attention and interests.
